I love the flexibility that comes with working from home as an entrepreneur. But with that freedom comes a responsibility to actually get the work done, even if you don’t have a boss setting your deadlines. Some days, I have no trouble setting my to do list and digging into my work. Other days, I need a little help. When I find myself feeling a little distracted, here are three things that help me stay focused and in the zone.

Virtual Coworking
Try joining a virtual coworking session through services like Focus 101 or Groove. These platforms allow you to work alongside others virtually, providing structure and accountability without the need for a physical office overhaul. The format is simple. You set a time to “work” with someone. You set your goals and how long you plan to work. Then, you keep your camera on and go about your business. At the end of the session, you check in to see if you have completed your work. The accountability can significantly increase your focus and productivity.
Use a Pomodoro Timer
You don’t need to revamp your entire schedule to improve your efficiency. Implementing a Pomodoro timer can help you stay focused and break your work into manageable intervals. By working in focused sprints followed by short breaks, you can maintain high levels of concentration without burning out, all with minimal disruption to your routine. The best part is, it’s totally free! You can use an online timer and get to work.
App Blockers to Prevent Distractions
Rather than eliminating all potential distractions from your workspace, consider using an app blocker to prevent access to distracting websites and apps during work hours. This small tweak can greatly reduce interruptions and help you stay on task, allowing you to get more done without major changes to your work environment. I use this app blocker and I have pretty strict settings. This also helps me unplug after work hours when I want to spend more time focused on my family.
These small changes can have a significant impact on your productivity and overall business efficiency. Sometimes, it’s the minor tweaks that make the biggest difference! Do you have a productivity tip to share? Let us know in the comments!
